Concacaf executive Jurgen Mainka named Inter Miami chief business officer

Inter Miami, which will begin play in MLS in 2020, has named Jurgen Mainka, Concacaf's chief commercial officer and deputy general secretary since 2016, as the team’s first chief business officer.

Mainke, a Mexican native, traces his roots in MLS back to the New England Revolution (1999-2003) and Colorado Rapids (2003-07). He later worked for the New York Red Bulls as vice president of communications (2011-13) after serving as director of marketing and communications for the USA Bid Committee that sought the 2022 World Cup hosting rights.

He spent the last five years at Miami-based Concacaf.

“Jurgen brings with him expertise in sponsor relationships and the enthusiasm needed to deliver a great fan experience that will benefit our community," said Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas.
