Awards: Portland's Franch repeats as NWSL's top keeper, Courage's Erceg named best defender

Despite missing nine games with a knee injury, Portland Thorns keeper Adrianna Franch was voted the NWSL's Goalkeeper of the Year for the second year in a row.

Franch, 27, helped lead the Thorns to the NWSL final for the second year in a row. She gave up 14 goals in 14 games. Seattle's Australian keeper, Lydia Williams, and Washington's Aubrey Bledsoe finished second and third respectively, in the voting.

For the second year in a row, a North Carolina Courage player was named the NWSL's Defender of the Year. Abby Dahlkemper took honors in 2017 and captain Abby Erceg was selected this season. The New Zealand international is the first foreign player to win the award.

    Why is Franch not on the USA WNT? JE Favoratism????
