Youth Movement: S2 starts lineup with average age of 18.5 for USL match

The Seattle Sounders FC 2 started seven teenagers and only one player over the age of 20 for its 3-1 loss at San Antonio FC. The average age of the S2 starters was 18.5.

-- Midfielder Danny Leyva, 15, became the youngest player to play for the Sounders' second team, while Alec Diaz, 16, made his first USL start. Azriel Gonzalez, 17, scored the lone S2 goal.

-- Four other players who have played for S2 in 2018 are away on U.S. U-17 national team duty: midfielders Josh Atencio and Daniel Robles and forwards
Alfonso Ocampo Chavez and Ray Serrano.
