What's in the news ...

1. The MLS SuperDraft will return to the United Soccer Coaches Convention in 2019. It will be held Jan. 11 at Chicago's McCormick Place convention center. It will follow the adidas MLS Player Combine, which will take place Jan. 3-9 at Orlando City Stadium.

2. Dutch soccer's big three -- Ajax, PSV, and Feyenoord -- agreed to give their Eredivisie rivals 10 percent of their revenues from the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. The rest of the Dutch top-flight is expected to share more than $5 million a year. In the last 50 years, the big three has won all but three of the Dutch first division titles.

3. NISA has announced plans to have a team in Connecticut, the first market the new third division pro league seeking sanctioning from U.S. Soccer has identified for its fall 2019 launch. No information on the team's ownership group or location was available, though. A USL team -- Hartford Athletic -- has plans for a 2019 launch in Connecticut.
