1. Lionel Messi is expected to miss the next five Barcelona matches with a broken arm. He was diagnosed with a fractured bone in his right arm suffered in Barca's 4-2 win over Sevilla. He'll miss both UEFA Champions League games against Inter Milan -- the third and fourth matchdays are always against the same opponents -- and the fall El Clasico against Real Madrid.

2. Toronto FC forward Jozy Altidore will undergo surgery on Thursday to remove a bone fragment from his right ankle. He'll miss for TFC's final match of the 2018 MLS season on Sunday against Atlanta United. TFC is already eliminated from the playoffs. Altidore finished with seven goals and one assist in 13 MLS games -- and 13 goals and three assists in 24 games across all competitions.

3. Cloud 9, the Sky Blue FC supporters group, has called on the NWSL team to be sold. It calls on the struggling New Jersey team, which didn't win its first game of the 2018 NWSL season until the last day of the season and came in for critical press coverage for its poor working conditions, to sell "the team to an ownership group that knows how to operate in this market, and will be sympathetic to the needs of players and fans."
