Pulisic's Dortmund and McKennie's Schalke remain unbeaten in UEFA Champions League

Christian Pulisic was back in the Borussia Dortmund starting lineup for its convincing 4-0 win over 2018 Europa League champion Atletico Madrid, its third victory in three games.

Pulisic's best chance came when he was set up by Moroccan teenager Achraf Hakimi in the first half. Hakimi, who joined Dortmund from Real Madrid, assisted on the first three goals scored by Axel Witsel, Raphael Guerreiro and Jadon Sancho, who had come on minutes earlier for Pulisic in the 79th minute.

L'Equipe rated Pulisic a "6" (out of 10), the best of Dortmund's three frontline players.

Group A Standings:
9 Bor. Dortmund (3-0-0)
6 Atletico Madrid (2-0-1)
1 Monaco (0-1-2)
1 Club Brugge (0-1-2)

Like Pulisic, Weston McKennie was injured and missed the USA's matches against Colombia and Peru.

But while Pulisic came off the bench in Bundesliga play last weekend and started on Wednesday, McKennie started for Schalke 04 in its Bundesliga game -- 2-0 loss at home to Werder Bremen -- and came off the bench for the last nine minutes of Schalke's 0-0 tie against Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Schalke remained unbeaten with five points in three games. That's a lot better than its Bundesliga record: just six points in eight games, putting it in the relegation zone.

Group B Standings:
7 Porto (2-1-0)
5 Schalke 04 (1-2-0)
4 Galatasaray (1-1-1)
0 Lok. Moscow (0-0-3)
