What's in the news ...

1. Left back Antonee Robinson has been ruled out of the USA's matches against England and Italy after suffering a right ankle sprain during Tuesday's training session in Brentford, England. The English-born defender has started three of the USA's last five games and came on as a substitute in the other two. Robinson, 21, leads the team with two assists in 2018. He'll return to Wigan Athletic on Friday and is expected to miss approximately four weeks.

2. The Chicago Fire has hired Kyle Sheldon as its senior vice president, marketing. Previously, he worked in MLS for D.C. United and most recently for the Seattle Sounders, where was vice president of marketing overseeing marketing, communications and broadcast. In his position with the Fire, Sheldon, who also spent three years at NASCAR, will oversee all the club's marketing, advertising, creative services and brand identity.

3. Nashville SC retained 14 players from the club’s first USL season for the 2019 campaign, the last before the team moves to MLS. Those returning include USL Goalkeeper of the Year finalist Matt Pickens and second team all-league selection Lebo Moloto. Nashville SC purchased forward Ropapa Mensah from Inter Allies FC in Ghana following a season-long loan in 2018.
