Milan Plans Transfer Swoop

Milan is set to tie up a series of late transfers following its 3-1 aggregate victory over Red Star of Serbia in Champions League qualifying. According to Football Italia, the club will re-open transfer talks with Real Madrid about Ronaldo. The Brazilian striker's future at Real Madrid remains an open question after the arrival of Ruud Van Nistelrooy from Manchester United. With four other quality strikers on Madrid's roster, playing time at Madrid will be at a premium. For its part, Milan has failed to find a suitable replacement for Andriy Shevchenko after his $57 million move to Chelsea. Ronaldo or Carlos Tevez would be a good move, provided the training staff could make them both fitter. Other Milan targets include Rafael Sobis, who won the 2006 Copa Libertadores with Brazil's Internacional, and Udinese's Italian striker, Vicenzo Iaquinta.
