NCAA Division I Men's Tournament: Kentucky reaches first-ever quarterfinals

Kentucky reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Men's Tournament for the first time with a 2-1 win over Lipscomb.

Bailey Rouse’s goal in the 82nd minute broke a 1-1 tie. Jason Reyes opened the scoring for UK in the 76th minute but Logan Paynter equalized for the Bisons 22 seconds later.

The Wildcats, who will host Maryland next weekend, improved their record to 19-1-1. Their 19 wins are the most in program history. They lost their only other appearance in the round of 16 in 2000. Lipscomb had never reached the final 16.

Duke-Maryland. French freshman William James Herve scored with a scissors kick to lead Maryland to a 2-0 win at Duke. Amar Sejdic, who starred at the RSL AZ academy, added the second goal, his team-high seventh of the season, in the 60th minute.

It's been quite a turnaround for the Terrapins, who started out with a 0-2-2 record and didn't score a goal in their first four games.
