NCAA Division III Men: Tufts and Calvin set for rematch

Tufts will play Calvin in a rematch of the 2016 final when they meet in Saturday's NCAA Division III Men's Tournament final in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Joe Braun scored one goal and added assists on goals by Gavin Tasker and Zach Lane as Tufts beat Rochester, 3-1. The unbeaten Jumbos (17-0-3) built a 3-0 lead before Rochester scored on a goal by Aidan Miller in the 72nd minute -- the first goal they allowed since Oct. 23 in their regular-season finale at Bowdoin.

Calvin (22-1-0) defeated the University of Chicago in the other semifinal, 4-1, to advance to the championship for the fourth time. It lost in 2009, 2014 and 2016 when Tufts won, 1-0, in the second overtime period.

The Knights had multiple chances before senior Bobby McCaw opened the scoring with his 21st goal on the season. Ian Adams, Hunter Olson and Dillon Weldy also scored for Calvin. Adams added two assists to increase his season total to 18, setting a new Calvin single-season record.
