Youth: Gianluca Busio strikes for U.S. U-17 boys in tie with Brazil

The USA finished second to Portugal in the 2018 U-17 Nike International Friendlies after a 1-1 tie with Brazil on Sunday. Captain Giovanni Reyna, who assisted on Ricardo Pepi's goal in the USA's 1-0 win over Turkey on Friday, set up Gianluca Busio's strike against Brazil in first-half stoppage time.

Brazil equalized in the 84th minute on a 22-yard free kick by Ivonei.

USA keeper Damian Las, who thwarted Gabriel Silva on a sixth-minute breakaway, made six saves. Las' Brazilian counterpart Gabriel Pereira made three saves.

The USA took 12 shots; Brazil 14.

The USA opened the four-team round-robin tournament with a 1-1 tie with Portugal, which took the crown thanks to its wins over Brazil (4-0) and Turkey (4-1). Brazil beat Turkey, 1-0.

The USA, currently coached by U-16 head coach Shaun Tsakiris, is preparing for next spring's Concacaf 2019 U-17 World Cup qualifying tournament.
