NAIA Women: William Carey wins first championship after final re-started

William Carey won its first NAIA women's championship, beating Keiser, 1-0, in the final that began on Saturday in Orange Beach, Alabama, and was re-started on Sunday after play on Saturday was stopped because of lightning and severe weather.

Finn Anni Rusanen scored the game-winner in the 16th minute, and the Lady Crusaders shut down high-scoring Keiser the rest of the way. They had the best chance to add to their lead when Dane Silvia Leonessi hit the crossbar late in the first half.
