1. A pair of Houston Dynamo veterans, Andrew Wenger and Dylan Remick, have announced their retirements.
Wenger was selected No. 1 overall in
the 2012 SuperDraft by Montreal and played seven MLS seasons with the Impact, Philadelphia Union and Houston. Remick, also 27, made 58 appearances in six MLS seasons with Seattle and the Dynamo. He
started for Houston in the 2017 MLS playoffs but didn't play a league game in 2018. Remick did not have his option picked up while Wenger was out of contract. Both were one year short in age and
service of becoming MLS free agents. 2. LAFC signed 24-year-old Canadian Mark-Anthony Kaye to a contract
, keeping him under contract through 2021 with a club option in 2022. Kaye, acquired from 2017 USL champion Louisville City, was a revelation in central midfield for LAFC, which
went into the season with a thin roster but set a record for the most points by an expansion team in its first season. 3. Real Salt
Lake and the Vancouver Whitecaps will play in the 2019 Pacific Rim Cup in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Japan's V-Varen Nagasaki and Iwaki FC will also take part in the second edition of the tournament, which
will be played Feb. 8 and 10 at Aloha Stadium.
