What They're Saying: Ryan Mooney

“A lot of the work that we’ve done at the Federation, understandably, is very macro, very high-level, very removed from that end individual -- whether it be a coach, a parent, an athlete, a player, etc. This is really a chance to be closer to that end result, and help influence, with hopefully some significance, the market of Philadelphia -- what that means for soccer there, and what it means ultimately for our efforts whether they be national or international beyond that point.

-- Ryan Mooney on leaving U.S. Soccer, where he was chief soccer officer, to help run a new sports business venture -- Playmakers Management Group -- formed by Philadelphia Union minority owner Richie Graham, who founded the YSC Academy that serves as the residential arm for the Union academy, one of MLS's most productive academies. This is the kind of thing that Cordeiro needs to come out and say. The USSF President should be required to conduct a "State of the Union" type of address. Congrats to Mooney though!
