January camp: NYCFC's Jonathan Lewis added to U.S. men's roster

U.S. men's national team coach Gregg Berhalter added New York City FC midfielder Jonathan Lewis to the 2019 January camp roster as his 28th player.

The original roster contained 27 players with plans to add a 28th player -- a midfielder or wide player. Lewis fits in the latter category. He has played 25 games, most off the bench, two MLS seasons and has three goals and four assists.

The 21-year-old midfielder is one of eight players on the roster to earn their first call-up and one of 13 who are uncapped.

Players will report to the Chula Vista (Calif.) Elite Athlete Training Center on Jan. 6.
