NPSL's Miami United FC draws record crowd of 11,173 fans for Penarol friendly

Miami United FC, which is slated to join the NPSL's Founders Cup competition, drew a a record-breaking crowd of 11,173 fans at Hialeah's Ted Hendricks Stadium for its 2-2 tie with Uruguay's Penarol.

Penarol, the five-time Libertadores Cup champion, came to Miami to prepare for the new Uruguayan season that begins in February

It led 2-0 on a pair of first-half goals by Rodrigo Pineiro, but keeper Peterson Occenat kept Miami United FC in the game long enough for it to come back in the second half on goals by Juan Fuenmayor and Chris Nurse.
