Not 1 player from Texas or the Southern United States? Am I missing something? Texas isn’t part of the Southwest?

Maybe in the U8 national team selection...

    The article is perhaps unclear.

This is information about selections from red  (western) zone on the map. Texas is in the purple (central) zone. There are 4 teams of 20 for each of the 3 zones.

Ha! Maybe so. If you are focusing on developing young talent at the “National Team” level and there is not  ☝️ Player from the entire State of Texas, that speaks volumes! Isn’t NTSA the largest soccer association in the USA? If not, maybe the second largest?

Gentlemen: I believe this article focused only on the US West Region. Texas is not included with that region. Just FYI

Wow, my mistake, I had no idea Texas wasn't out in the west. Boy, those old cowboys movies certainly misplaced my sense of geography....

Maybe so. I would think “Southwest Selection“ would include Texas.

I thought Texas seceded from the Union.

The title does specify the West region.  The article itself refers to the National program by gives details of a West specific activity.  The map does not label either the West or National Regions, rather is for Key Markets, which rather than supporting the content reveals another new USSF Youth Program that ignores most youth in the USA as it completely focuses on large metro areas.
