MLS Moves: Caleb Stanko returns from Germany to play for FC Cincinnati

After eight years in Europe, Caleb Stanko has joined FC Cincinnati following his transfer from Bundesliga club Freiburg.

Stanko moved from Vardar SC in his native Michigan to Freiburg in 2011. He only made six Bundesliga and five 2. Bundesliga appearances. He spent 2016-17 on loan to Leichtenstein's Vaduz in the Swiss Super League.

Stanko, 25, has one cap for the USA.

“We are happy to add Caleb to our roster,” FC Cincinnati head coach Alan Kochsaid. “We look for versatility in our central midfielders and we feel he can fill a number of roles depending on the personnel we have on the pitch. We look forward to Caleb competing immediately within our group.”
