Friday: MLS Moves

The Chicago Fire signed 17-year-old defender Andre Reynolds II out of its academy program to a contract through the 2022 season with a club option for the 2023 season.

Reynolds is the Fire's 12th Homegrown signing and one of four players on its current roster along with defender Grant Lillard and midfielder Jeremiah Gutjahr out of Indiana University and midfielder Djordje Mihailovic, who is with the U.S. national team preparing for Sunday's game with Panama in Glendale, Arizona.

Reynolds recently attended the U.S. U-19 national team camp in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

"We were monitoring Andre very closely as he played with our youth squads," said Chicago Fire coach Veljko Paunovic. "He is a very talented player. He also brings depth, competition and quality to our roster. We are very excited to work with him and help him reach his potential."
