The LA Galaxy made its first new international signing since
Dennis te Kloese took over as general manager with the acquisition of 21-year-old Mexican
Uriel Antuna on a year-long loan
from England’s Manchester City.
Antuna played the last two seasons on loan in the Eredivisie to FC Groningen, where he made 20 appearanaces.
“Uriel is a
talented, young and dynamic midfielder who we think can add to our attack,” said te Kloese. “He has experience playing in for clubs in Mexico, England and the Netherlands and will only
continue to develop and improve as a player. We are excited to add him to our roster and believe he can offer something positive to our team.”
Antuna, 21, made his Liga MX
debut for Santos, playing one game in 2017 before signing with Manchester City. He played for Mexico at the 2017 U-20 World Cup.
