Weah gets a new name -- and another goal and assist

In France, where he broke into the pro ranks, they call him Timothy Weah. Around the U.S. national team, he's simply Tim. And in Scotland, where he moved in January, he's got a new name: Timo.

Celtic fans were toasting Timo Weah on Sunday after he came off the bench to assist on the go-ahead goal by James Forrester and score a second goal himself as Celtic won, 2-0 at St. Johnstone to stay six points ahead of Aberdeen and Rangers in its bid for an eighth straight league title.

The goal was Weah's third in five games since arriving on loan from Paris St. Germain. He had come on in the 74th minute after sub Odsonne Edouard -- his former teammate in the PSG academy -- was injured.

“How he came on was absolutely brilliant,” Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers told Celtic TV. “Great movement – his touch and ball for the first goal was sensational and obviously his movement to get in the box on the counter attack and finish was brilliant. For an 18-year-old boy, he’s got great qualities and his enthusiasm for the game is so nice to see as well.”
