1. Approval on MLS expansion team FC Cincinnati's request for a zoning change for its proposed soccer stadium has been delayed.
Cincinnati city council agreed in a 7-0 vote to a land deal with FC Cincinnati for the purchase of a parking lot the club needs to build its new stadium in Cincinnati's West End neighborhood, but
negotiations are ongoing with the Cincinnati Ballet over what to about the ballet's long-term lease at the development site and with the owner of a restaurant that was in a building demolished for the
stadium. 2. Representatives from the USL and USLPA met for the first time on Tuesday to begin the process for negotiating a
collective bargaining agreement
for players in the USL Championship. The USL voluntarily recognized the USLPA in November as the union representing players in the Division 2 league -- not players
in the new Division 3 USL League One and not players on MLS contracts on loan from MLS clubs. In joint statements, both sides stressed that the "basic framework to begin bargaining in earnest has been
established." 3. MLS and Kellogg’s extended their sponsorship agreement through 2020.
Cheez-It and Pringles will remain
the league’s official snacks, Eggo will become the official waffle, and Kellogg’s will be a core partner of eMLS -- the league's competitive FIFA 19 league. A new sweepstakes will be
introduced, offering fans a chance to win a trip for two to the 2019 MLS All-Star Week in Orlando.
