1. Darlington Nagbe has returned to training with Atlanta United and is in the traveling squad for its Concacaf Champions League opener at Costa Rica's Herediano on Thursday night. Head coach Frank de Boer described the reasons for Nagbe arriving late and leaving early from its California training camp as “personal issues.” Said Nagbe, “They wanted me to focus more on what was going on, and I was happy to do that. They let me come back home and take care of that. I’m looking forward to the season now.”

2. The Women’s Premier Soccer League added 29 expansion clubs for the 2019 season. The new entrants include a reserve team for the NWSL Utah Royals. The league now features clubs in 34 states with teams added in Colorado, New Mexico, Maryland and Delaware as well as in British Columbia (Victoria's Epic Soccer). In addition, Orlando Kicks FC has rejoined the WPSL and two teams -- Maplebrook Fury (former Minnesota TwinStars) and FC Golden State Villa (LA Villa) -- have been rebranded under new ownership.
 
3. Former MLS all-star Jim Rooney will again coach Boca Raton FC, which has joined the UPSL for the 2019 spring season. Boca Raton FC will play in the Florida South Division of the expanding UPSL’s Southeast Conference after moving from the NPSL, where it played two seasons. It began in the American Premier Soccer League in 2015. Rooney, who led Boca Raton FC to a 10-10-2 record across all competitions in 2018, played six seasons in MLS for the MetroStars, Miami Fusion and New England Revolution.
