-- Ulises Leyva, father of 15-year-old midfielder Danny Levya, who has been playing regularly for the Seattle Sounders in preseason after signing a pro contract with their USL team. He left home in Las Vegas at the age of 14 to join the Sounders' academy program. Giving up college opportunities so young was not an easy decision for the family to make. Ulises Leyva earned a civil engineering degree in Mexico before moving to Las Vegas. (Seattle Times)
