Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Conmebol has turned down U.S. Soccer's proposal to host a lucrative 16-team Americas tournament in 2020. The South American confederation has wanted to move its quadrennial Copa America to even years, beginning in 2020. Those plans were cited as one of the reasons for rejecting the proposal even though no host country for a 2020 Copa America has been named.

2. The LA Galaxy completed the transfer of Ola Kamara’s to China's Shenzhen.
The Norwegian international played four seasons in MLS, three in Columbus and one with the Galaxy. LA Galaxy general manager Dennis te Kloese described the deal as "mutually beneficial to both our club and to Ola."

3. ESPN's USL Championship Game of the Week will feature eight games on its linear networks, seven on ESPNews (beginning with expansion Memphis 901 FC's match against ATL UTD 2 on April 10) and one game on ESPN2 (the May 8 game between Nashville SC and Tampa Bay). In addition, 14 matches in the Game of the Week series will be streamed digitally on ESPN3. All other USL Championship games will be streamed on the ESPN+ pay service.
