SA's MLS Power Rankings: LAFC and Seattle stake out top spots

MLS Week 2, Results:

Saturday, March 9
Chicago 1 Orlando City 1
New England 0 Columbus 2
FC Dallas 2 LA Galaxy 0
Houston 2 Montreal 1
Real Salt Lake 1 Vancouver 0
San Jose 0 Minn. United 3
Seattle 2 Colorado 0
Sunday, March 10
Sporting KC 2 Philadelphia 0
NYCFC 0 D.C. United 0
Atlanta United 1 FC Cincinnati 1
Los Angeles FC 4 Portland 1

Only three teams are 2-0-0 after MLS's second weekend of play: LAFC, Seattle and Minnesota United. In 2018, LAFC was also one of three teams to open with two victories.

The Loons' success is the surprise, considering their lousy form on the road in their first two seasons (just four wins in 34 games). LAFC is the only other team since 2016 to open with a pair of wins on the road.

In Week 2:
MLS surprise: Loons are off to flying start with two wins on the road
What's wrong with Atlanta United? Even worse than bad is it's boring

Five teams picked up their first wins of the season: Columbus, FC Dallas, Houston, Real Salt Lake and Sporting KC.

√ San Jose dropped to the bottom of the Power Rankings after its second loss in a row. The Earthquakes' winless streak is 10 games, dating back to 2018 when they were last in the overall standings.
