Watch: Former St. Louis University forward earn Bundesliga red-card infamy

Hertha Berlin's Vedad Ibisevic, the Bosnian forward who attended high school and college in the USA, threw the ball at Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Bürki to earn the fifth straight red card of his Bundesliga career, tying the all-time record. Ibisevic, who attended Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, was the 2002 Soccer America Freshman of the Year at St. Louis University. He left SLU after one year for Paris Saint-Germain, then on to Dijon, Alemannia Aachen, Hoffenheim, VfB Stuttgart and Hertha Berlin, which he now captains. His five straight red cards are matched by retired Jens Nowotny. With Hertha trailing BVB 3-2 in stoppage time, Ibisevic accused Bürki of time-wasting.
