U.S. U-23s close out camp with 0-0 tie against Dutch U-23s

The U.S. under-23 men’s national team closed out its first camp under head coach Jason Kreis with a 0-0 tie with the Netherlands.

The USA, which had lost to Egypt, 2-0, on Friday, had the better of play for much of the game but was stymied by Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Paes, who plays for FC Utrecht.

Paes saved a powerful shot by Keaton Parks in the 31st minute and a Jeremy Ebobisse header in the 68th minute. Parks and Ebobisse were among seven starters who have been capped at the senior national team level.

One of the best U.S. players was 17-year-old right back Julian Araujo, who recently made his debut for the LA Galaxy. Araujo had played for the USA at the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship.
