Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Major League Soccer will be back on the air in France with BeIN Sports, which has acquired MLS television rights in France following the end of the agreement with Eurosport, which held pan-European rights (outside the United Kingdom). Two MLS games will air each week on one of beIN Sports' three main channels while the remainder of its seven-game package will air on beIN Sports' other channels. BeIN Sports is one of the most visible Ligue 1 broadcasters in France though its coverage will be reduced when the new league media deal takes effect in 2020.

2. The New York Cosmos signed former Albanian national team captain Ansi Agolli for the 2019 NPSL season. The 36-year-old left back has played the last nine seasons for Azerbajian's Qarabag after spending time in Switzerland and Finland. He played for Qarabag this season in UEFA Champions League qualifying and the Europa League.

3. Sky Blue FC defender Mandy Freeman will likely miss the 2019 NWSL season after she suffered a complete tear of her Achilles tendon in preseason training. The USC product was a fixture on the Sky Blue backline the last two seasons, starting 20 games in 2017 and 21 games in 2018.
