Roster: Four European-based women in U.S. team for La Manga U-23 Tournament

Four European-based players who turned down a chance to play in the NWSL -- Casey Murphy, Julia Ashley, Alana Cook and senior international Hailie Mace -- are among the 20 players called into the U.S. Under-23 women’s national team for the Women’s International U-23 La Manga Tournament.

The USA will face U-23 squads from Sweden on Friday, France on Sunday and Italy on next Tuesday.

The team is a mixed squad of U-23 and U-20 age players. Besides the four pros, there are 14 collegiate players and two youth club players (Payton Linnehan and Jordan Canniff).

The team is different from the U-23 team that won two of three games at the Thorns Spring Invitational, which ended Saturday in Portland, Oregon.
