Two days after scoring the overtime goal that gave the Seattle Sounders a 1-0 win over River Plate, Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez scored a hat trick in the first half to lead the Sounders to a 4-0 win
over West Ham United and a place in the U-17 Champions Division final at the Generation adidas Cup.
Ocampo-Chavez scored on a header off a free kick by Danny Leyva that was nodded on by Elias Katsaros, added a second goal off a cross from Ray
Serrano and finished his hat trick with a left-footed blast. He has scored six goals in five games.
Leyva, Serrano and Ocampo-Chavez are of five players whom the Sounders have signed
to pro contracts and who play for the Tacoma Defiance. Josh Atencio, Danny Robles, Serrano and Ocampo-Chavez are signed with the Defiance while Leyva signed an MLS contract last week.
Katsaros scored the fourth goal for the Sounders, who will face Valencia in the final on Saturday at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
