U.S. U-15 boys beat England on PKs after stoppage-time equalizer

The USA has a chance to finish in ninth place at the U-15 Torneo delle Nazioni thanks to a shootout win over England in Lignano, Italy after the teams tied 1-1 in regulation.

Kenan Hot of the New York Red Bulls academy scored in the second minute of stoppage time of the 70-minute game to equalize after the USA went down, 1-0, to a goal by Divin Mubama. in the 19th minute.

The USA, coached by Steve Klein, ended up in the ninth-place consolation bracket because of losses to co-host Slovenia (1-0) and Mexico (3-0) after opening with a 3-0 win over India.

The USA faces Norway on Saturday.

    That’s really not a particularly good showing for the U15’s. It’s very clear that the best players this country has to offer are not being selected. It’s a closed tryout, so that’s what you get.
