Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Nashville SC acquired Derrick Jones from the Philadelphia Union for $175,000 in GAM. The deal will be made official when Nashville SC joins MLS in 2020. In the meantime, the former U.S. U-20 midfielder will play on loan from the Union for the rest of the 2019 USL season. Nashville SC signed Mexican Daniel Rios (North Carolina SC) and Englishman Cameron Lancaster (Louisville City) to MLS contracts earlier in the year.

2. The New York Red Bulls signed midfielder Alex Muyl to a new multi-year contract. Muyl, 23, was signed to a Homegrown Player contract in 2015 after he played three seasons at Georgetown. He enjoyed his most productive MLS season in 2018 when he tallied three goals and five assists in 30 matches for the Supporters’ Shield champions. He has already scored two goals in eight games in 2019.

3. Concacaf's 2020 Under-17 Women's Championship will mirror the format adopted for the 2019 U-17 Men's Championship being played in Bradenton, Florida. The 16 highest-ranked teams and 16 lowest-ranked teams will take part in the separate group stages. The knockout phase will include 12 of the 16 highest-ranked teams -- the top three teams from the four groups -- and four of the 16 lowest-ranked teams -- the four group winners. The two finalists and the winner of the third-place game will advance to the 2020 Under-17 Women's World Cup in India.
