1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was suspended for two games and issued an undisclosed fine for grabbing NYCFC keeper Sean Johnson's throat late in the LA Galaxy’s match last Saturday. He will miss Sunday’s match against the Colorado Rapids and the match at Orlando City on May 24.

2. The Hartford Athletic named Paul Buckle as technical advisor to chairman and CEO Bruce Mandell. Buckle, the husband of NBC Sports presenter Rebecca Lowe, was the U-23 coach at the Premier League's Southampton after serving as head coach and technical director of Sacramento Republic FC for three seasons.

3. The USA moved into the semifinals at the 2019 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship with a 5-1 victory over Guadeloupe. Tanner Akol and Nick Perera scored two goals apiece for the Americans, who will face El Salvador in Saturday's semifinals. Akol and Perera lead the USA with 11 and nine goals, respectively, in four games.
