USL Championship: What's in the news ...

1. The unbeaten Tampa Bay Rowdies picked up their eighth shutout in 12 matches with a 1-0 victory over the Swope Park Rangers to remain unbeaten with a 7-0-5 record. The Rowdies, who lead the Eastern Conference by four points, were playing without center back Pape Diakite, who was suspended.  Diakite, the NASL's Young Player of the Year for the 2016 season, joined the Rowdies last season after beginning the year in Thailand.

Of the seven expansion teams, only New Mexico United, which leads the Western Conference by four points over Phoenix and Fresno, and El Paso have winning records.
