OKC Energy FC hands Tampa Bay Rowdies first loss in 14 games in 2019

A weather delay of almost two and a half hours couldn't stop OKC Energy FC from defeating the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 4-3, in a battle of USL Championship teams to open the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

The loss was the first in 14 games for the Rowdies, who are 7-0-5 in league play and won their Open Cup.

Frenchman Alexy Bosetti scored one goal for Energy FC and set up two more, including Deshorn Brown's winner to break a 3-3 tie in the 60th minute.

OKC started three players -- Alvin Jones (Trinidad and Tobago), Mekeil Williams (Trinidad and Tobago), Omar Gordon (Jamaica) -- and subbed on two others -- Cordell Cato (Trinidad and Tobago) and Je-Vaughn Watson (Jamaica) -- on provisional rosters for the Gold Cup.
