Watch: Mallory Pugh reflects on growing up faster

Mal Pugh, the second youngest player on the U.S. World Cup squad, credits her older sister and veteran teammates for helping her as she fast-tracked her career. The 21-year-old Pugh, five months older than 20-year-old Tierna Davidson, debuted for the USA at 17 -- and skipped college ball to go pro at age 18.

Great player, love to watch her play, just wish she would take on the defense more on 1 v1, she would be fantastic. she has the ability, but I have a suspicion that coaches are telling her to just pass the ball into the goal mouth from the wings or midfield. They are not helping her progress. she played better when she first started, before she was influenced by the current coaches. She should be a starter, not a sub.
