Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Four MLS clubs qualified teams in all three age categories for the 2019 Boys Development Academy Playoffs: the Chicago Fire, Montreal Impact, Philadelphia Union and Toronto FC.  FC Dallas and Shattuck-St. Mary's enter as the U-18/19 and U-16/17 No. 1 seeds, respectively. A U-15 boys' playoff will be held for the first time with the qualified teams drawn into two groups of four. The Academy Playoffs and quarterfinal knockout round in the two older age groups will be held June 17-29 at the SoCal Sports Complex in Oceanside, California. The semifinals and final in the older age groups will take place July 8-10 at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California. The U-15 boys champion will be crowned in Oceanside.

2. LA Surf Soccer Club has added LA Premier FC to the Los Angeles-based club that was formed in January following the merger of SoCal Academy, San Gabriel Valley Surf and Soltilo FC. The focus will be teams in the Boys and Girls Development Academy, Boys ECNL and Girls Development Player League. Surf Soccer started in San Diego but has recently expanded into other parts of California, including Orange County, San Jose and Walnut Creek.

3. The Philadelphia Union's Warren Creavalle, who was slated to represent Guyana, the USA's opening opponent, at the Gold Cup, will miss the tournament after breaking a foot in training with the Golden Jaguars. The American-born midfielder has played six games for the Eastern Conference-leading Union in 2019.
