Omar Hernandez, who led top-ranked Dalton High
School to the Georgia 6A state championship, was named the 2019 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
Hernandez recorded 16 goals and 17 assists and had two assists against
Gainesville in a 4-1 win that captured the state title. He finished his prep career with 78 goals and 64 assists, both school records for the Catamounts.
He will play at ACC powerhouse
Wake Forest University this fall.
