Five-game Victory Tour will begin Aug. 3 at Rose Bowl

The U.S. women's national team will play a five-game Victory Tour to celebrate its World Cup championship, beginning with a match against Ireland on Aug. 3 at the Rose Bowl. (The game will air on ESPN2 at 10 pm. ET.)

The match will fall during a weekend when there are four NWSL matches.

The four remaining games will be played during FIFA windows: Aug. 29, Sept. 3, Oct. 3 and Oct. 6 at venues and opponents to be announced later. There is one NWSL game during the August-September window.

As part of its new multi-year sponsorship with U.S. Soccer, Allstate will be the presenting sponsor of the Victory Tour. It will also be an official sponsor of the U.S. men's, women's and youth national teams, as well as presenting sponsor of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.

Interesting. In 2015 USSF had a 10-game victory tour after the WNT won. The tour also was prepartion for the 2016 Olympics.

So why less promotion of the WNT this year? I cannot help thinking about the lawsuit. 2019 was another great victory and there is another Olympics next year, but half as many matches?

Maybe the clubs teams only have to release them for international breaks and want them to play?

Maybe, but the tour is a huge boost for the league. The 2015 world cup and tour boosted attendance. Also USSF in effect runs the league although it doesn't own it.

I get your argument, but if you want to be taken seriously as a league, you cannot have your best players gown the whole time.  US soccer is dependent on the NWSL being successful on the women's side.

The victory tour will bring in money to help support the club teams, I think simple as that.
you got to work it as quickly as you can before the WC victory is gone in the news.

This is crazy, they should plan this right after the season is finished. The girls would still  be in shape and in condition and  you would have the full attention of the soccer fans....
This is just a way of making a quick buck at the expense of the other women's teams, the quality of the soccer of the women's which is not alll that great  and the fans...
