“This is the respect that people have for women’s soccer in Brazil. Goodnight to everyone who’s going to sleep quietly in their own beds before working the next day. This is the reality. Why is the United States so far ahead of us?”

-- Emily Lima, coach of Brazilian women's team Santos and Brazil's former women's national team coach, in a video showing her players lounging in a hotel lobby in Brasilia early Tuesday morning ahead of Wednesday's Brazilian first division game against Iranduba in Manaus. An error with the hotel reservation made by the Brazilian federation's logistics company left them without rooms. The team had to stay in Brasilia because there was no direct flight from Sao Paulo to Manaus. On the way back home, the team has a 4 a.m. flight after the game to Brasilia connecting to Sao Paulo.
