1. Mix Diskerud has made the K-League all-stars' starting team that will face Juventus on July 26. Diskerud joined Ulsan Hyundai last summer on loan from Manchester City. Ulsan is second in the Korean top flight, one point behind Jeonbuk FC but with a game in hand.

2. Cameron Carter-Vickers wasn't included in Tottenham's squad for its preseason trip to Shanghai and Singapore. Carter-Vickers, who has spent the last two seasons on loan to clubs in the EFL Championship, was one of three players left behind to continue rehabilitation work after suffering undisclosed injuries. He earned his eighth cap for the USA as a late sub in its 1-0 loss to Jamaica in June.

3. Bobby Wood scored twice for Hamburg in a 4-1 win over German fourth division club Rugenbergen. HSV fielded its reserves in the match that comes a week and a half before the 2. Bundesliga opener against Darmstadt. Wood is back at Hamburg after a disappointing season on loan at Hannover 96, where he finished with three goals in 20 games and was benched for the last two months of the Bundesliga season.
