Pensacola FC gains revenge for loss in 2018 WPSL final

In a rematch of the 2018 Women's Premier Soccer League championship game, Pensacola FC beat the defending champion Seattle Sounders Women, 3-2, and moved into the 2019 final against the Utah Royals FC Reserves at Oklahoma State's Neal Patterson Stadium in Stillwater.

Pensacola jumped out to 2-0 lead at the break on goals by Brian Morris and Uchenna Kanu. Molly Rouse added the third Pensacola in the 65th minute, a minute after Summer Yates pulled Seattle to within one goal in the 64th minute. Alex Hobbs' goal in the 81st minute cut the deficit to one, but goalkeeper Kathryn Scheele made a key save late in the game to preserve the win for Pensacola.

Utah won on penalty kicks (4-2) after its match with Motor City FC ended in a 1-1 tie. Amber Marshall put the expansion Royals ahead in the fourth minute, but an own goal in the 27th minute evened the score.
