Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Sunday's Chicago Red Stars-North Carolina Courage game on ESPN2, the first NWSL match on the network since a new television deal was signed, was watched by 149,000 viewers. That's more than watched the Orlando City-New York Red Bulls match on FS1 (148,000) or Juventus-Tottenham friendly on ESPN2 (105,000). The two most-watched soccer games on English-language television on Sunday were Atlanta United-D.C. United (328,000 on ESPN) and Seattle Sounders-Portland Timbers (250,000 on FS1).

2. Minnesota United signed Frenchman Wilfried Moimbe, a 30-year-old left back from Ligue 2's Nancy. Frenchman Romain Metanire, who just returned from representing Madagascar at the Africa Cup of Nations, has been arguably the best right back in MLS this season. It's been a revolving door at left back, where rookie Chase Gasper has started in recent weeks.

3. The Columbus Crew signed 22-year-old Scottish international Chris Cadden from Motherwell of the Scottish Premiership and loaned him to Oxford United of England’s League One. Cadden will join the Crew in 2020.
