What They're Saying: Julian Araujo

"I wouldn't give up on any of the teams because I grew up in a Mexican household. I watched Mexico throughout my life. I always watched the U.S. throughout my life and I have dual citizenship so I can play for both."

-- Mexican-American defender Julian Araujo, who has been starting for the LA Galaxy at right back and in midfield, on keeping his options open about playing for the USA or Mexico. Araujo, 17, played for the USA in the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship and for the U.S. U-23s in two friendly games but didn't play at the 2019 Under-20 World Cup. (Scuffed Podcast)

Berhalter! Do you read this?  Do we want another dual citizen to escape?  Time to put the full court press (bad metaphor) on recruiting the kid.

I support Araujo and any player making their decisions anyway they want, on any criteria they think is best for them.  Having said that, I will never be concerned about a player that has to be recruited.  Just my bias.
