USL Championship: What's in the news ...

1. Six Charleston Battery players were treated and discharged from a Kansas City hospital after the vehicle taking them to Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday evening for the match against Swope Park Rangers was involved in an accident. The match was postponed and will be rescheduled to a later date.

2. The Phoenix Rising set a USL Championship record when it won its 11th consecutive match with a 1-0 victory over the Tulsa Roughnecks. Winless since April 24, Tulsa kept the game close, even though it played the second half with 10 players following a red card to forward Fredlin Mompremier just before halftime. Jamaican sub Kevon Lambert broke the deadlock with his second goal of the year in the 69th minute.

3. Nashville SC drew 13,047 fans for its 2-0 win over Indy Eleven. It was the smallest crowd yet to see the future MLS team play at 69,143-seat Nissan Stadium, the NFL Titans' stadium that will be its home before it moves into its new stadium at the Nashville Fairgrounds in 2022. In 2018, Nashville SC's first season, it drew crowds of 18,922 and 18,228 for two games that both ended in scoreless draws. It plays its other games at First Tennessee Park, the downtown minor-league baseball stadium.
