TV: MLS All-Star Game viewership up on Univision networks, record low on FS1

The 2019 MLS All-Game between the MLS all-stars and Atletico Madrid averaged 626,000 viewers on UniMas, and simulcast on TUDN, making it the third-most watched mid-season game ever on the Univision networks, but just 182,000 viewers watched on FS1, less than half last year's audience and the lowest on record on English-language television in the 24-year history of the mid-season game.

The 2019 audience was adversely impacted by the 40-minute weather delay at the start of the game in Orlando. Atletico Madrid won the match, 3-0.

The Spanish-language audience was up from 495,000 on UniMas/UDN in 2018. Only the 2017 All-Star Game with Real Madrid and 2011 match with Manchester United drew larger Spanish-language audiences.

The 2018 match involving Juventus aired on ESPN and averaged 452,000. The previous low on English-language television was 319,000 on ESPN2 for the MLS all-stars vs. Roma in Kansas City in 2013.

2019 808,000 (FS1 182,000, UniMas/TUDN 626,000)
2018 947,000 (ESPN 452,000, UniMas/UDN 495,000)
2017 1,904,000 (FS1 420,000, Univision/UDN *1,484,000)
2016 873,000 (ESPN 513,000, UniMas/UDN 360,000)
2015 833,000 (FS1 548,000, UniMas/UDN 285,000)
*All-time record for single network.

The delay actually suited my viewing time better and I didn't miss a single cuss.
