U.S. SOCCER: Freddy Adu signs with agent

U.S. U-17 national team star Freddy Adu, who turns 14 on Monday, will be represented by the same agency that negotiates for national team coach Bruce Arena and forward Landon Donovan.

In announcing the agreement, SportsNet, LLC, whose principals are Richard Motzkin and Dan Segal, also confirmed that Adu has inked an endorsement deal with Nike.

SportsNet would not comment on the financial terms of the Nike deal, which the Washington Post reported was worth $1 million.

Adu was born in Ghana, immigrated to the United States in 1997, and received U.S. citizenship in February 2003.
