Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Uly Llanez scored two more goals for Wolfsburg's U-19s in their 5-2 win over Magdeburg to give him six goals in three games -- two goals in each game. He leads the A-Junioren Bundesliga Nord/Nordost in scoring. Stuart Ritchie made his Bundesliga U19 debut for Hannover 96 in a 3-0 win over Hamburg. Ritchie, 17, played for Ballistic United and the San Jose Earthquakes academy before joining Dutch club Groningen's youth program two years ago.

2. The Seattle Sounders have named Peter Tomozawa as their president of business operations and the 12th member of the new ownership group alongside his wife, Donna LeDuc. Tomozawa has most recently been vice president and executive director for partnerships and board relations for Los Angeles’ successful bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games. He holds minority stakes in the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights and English Championship's Swansea City and Barnsley. Garth Lagerwey, the president of soccer and general manager, and Tomozawa will report to Sounders majority owner Adrian Hanauer.

3. Tuesday's Leagues Cup doubleheader averaged 477,000 viewers on TUDN, 538,000 viewers for the Tigres-Club America match in Houston and 416,000 for the LA Galaxy-Cruz Azul game. The four quarterfinal matches pitting MLS teams against Liga MX teams averaged 243,000 on TUDN, Univision's rebranded sports cable network. Tigres and Cruz Azul will meet in the Leagues Cup final on Sept. 18 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
