Evening Edition: What's in the news ...

1. Tim Weah was injured in training on Sunday and will miss French club Lille's next two games. Weah, who played in Lille's first two Ligue 1 games after the moving from Paris St. Germain over the summer, suffered a muscle injury while doing a sprint at the end of practice on Sunday. Lille's match against St. Etienne was one of three Ligue 1 games pushed back to this week because of the mobilization of French security forces for the G7 summit in Biarritz. Lille coach Christophe Galtier said Weah will be reevaluated after the international break. The injury likely rules out a first U.S. call-up for Weah under Gregg Berhalter.

2. Former U.S. national team member Charlie Davies has been hired by the new ACC Network to work as the analyst alongside Dalen Cuff on the network's ACC men's soccer coverage. It will air 28 men's games with a dedicated window on Fridays throughout the regular season. Davies also provides analysis on MLSSoccer.com's studio coverage. Jenn Hildreth and Angela Hucles are the lead announcing team for the ACC Network's women's soccer coverage (30 games).

3. The struggling Montreal Impact has re-signed French centerback Rod Fanni to a contract through the end of the 2019 season. Fanni, 37, started 26 games and was named three times to the MLS Team of the Week in 2018. As a free agent, Fanni was eligible to be signed even though the trade and transfer deadline passed. The roster freeze date is Friday.
